Why did we not get to visit this place sooner? It's a delightful place to get barbecue and the sides were quite delicious. We heard they can be so packed with long lines but on a Sunday afternoon on a three day weekend, we were lucky to get in and even get a table indoors. The brisket and ribs were tender, tasty, and perfectly smoked. On their menu, they describe their brisket as Creekstone Farms Certified Black Angus, dry rubbed and slow smoked for 12-14hrs. We had to have seconds of their delicious juicy brisket. It's served with Breakwater Pickles, and pickled sliced onion. The sides were generous portions good to share. Beans & Greens has Simms Swiss chard, black eyed peas, sliced garlic, and house smoked sausage. Merle's Potato Salad was classic. Apple Cilantro Slaw Crisp has a hint of natural sweetness. Mac'n Cheese was creamy, and well seasoned. Cozy space, great food, accommodating staff, and good parking. Worth the drive when craving barbecue.

I went and got the Texas platter and NOTHING disappointed. Absolutely amazing ordered the brisket fatty and it melted in my mouth. As a last min decision I ordered the banh mi and it was insanely good with the brisket burnt ends. Will be returning to try everything on the menu. Everyone there was super friendly. Limited seating but worth it.

The space is a bit hidden - but if you find it - you're in for a treat. Delicious sandos and bbq staples like ribs and brisket are all top notch and are a good bet to satisfy any urgent BBQ craving. Nice seating outside in the back for when the weather cooperates. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely fabulous. 10/10 experience, food was amazing, location is beautiful, and service was great. I got the burger and cornbread and was thoroughly impressed. This is now my new favorite restaurant and plan to come back in the near future. Michelin star for a reason.

Breakwater serves up some really good barbecue, and it's my favorite in the Bay Area as of now. The brisket is juicy and full of flavor. I tried the fatty parts and also the lean parts. You'll want to get there early, though, since they can run out of items later in the day. The burger is also a solid choice, and the ribs are well-cooked and satisfying. The portions are generous, and the quality of the food makes it worth a visit. I'd definitely come back for the brisket specifically

I am giving 5 stars even though the Potato salad is wack. The black eyed peas and greens we came back and got again because they are amazing. The brisket here is fire. Haven't tried the Brisket burger but the Brisket Banh Mi is insanely good(besides the Brisket cubes falling out while eating it!). You get your money's worth eating here. They really hook it up!!

We went around 2 PM on a sunday and there was practically no line, although they still had a few people seated eating lunch. Owner(?) was super friendly and let us try some sides before we ordered. We went for the texas trinity with a 1/2 pound of brisket, 1/2 pound of ribs, 1 link, and 2 large sides (we chose mac and cheese and the beans and greens). Brisket: 4.5/5. Really solid brisket with great smokey flavor and great seasoning. Not dry at all (although i do wish it was a teeny bit juicier/melt in your mouth) Ribs: 6/5 Absolutely delicious, loved how tender the ribs were but still providing a chew. Link: 4/5 Solid sausage. Mac and cheese: 5/5 High quality mac and cheese Beans and greens: 5/5 Way better than it sounds like, they are made with chunks of pork and sausage and the whole thing has a ton of flavor. We ordered this for two and we were both pretty stuffed afterwards, pretty fair prices for texas BBQ. Would definitely come again

Barbecue but make it Asian. That's been my Breakwater motto these past two visits. Their Banh Mi ($15) filled with burnt ends is so good, I haven't been able to order anything else. I'm not a huge BBQ fan, but I'm surrounded by people who are, so I'm happy to have found a dish with an equal ratio of veggies to meat; the sliced cucumber, shredded carrots, cilantro, & spicy jalapeños complement the rich, flavorful brisket, & the soft roll slathered in mayo & BBQ sauce is a nice twist on the more-traditional Vietnamese banh mi I'm used to. For dessert, their Cowboy Cookie ($5) doesn't measure up to their Texas Sheet Cake ($5), sold by the square. I really enjoyed the moist chocolate cake & hardened glaze topped with pecans. Small spot with only a few four-top tables inside & one outside so be prepared to wait or take your order to-go. Perfect meal after a day on the coast!

This place gets soooo busy during lunch rush! The ribs are very tender and seasoned so well (but they aren't fall off the bone ribs). The Mac & cheese is really good but this time it was kind of the ends so a little dry... Corn bread is yummy but kind of small for $4. Inside is loud as there's a lot going on and the seating is a bit small! On nicer days it would be good to sit outside. $70 for the meal below!
